The picture commemorates the historic event on February 14, 1778, when the French fleet in Quiberon Bay, France, formally recognized the American flag by saluting the USS Ranger, commanded by Captain John Paul Jones.
This event symbolized the beginning of international support for the American cause during the Revolutionary War.
This is old , has been in my uncles office for yrs . Not sure how old it is . It is set in a wood frame . 15”x12”.
Has a metal wire across the back for hanging .
A wonderful vintage piece for sure .
